Android Q beta 6, the last Android Q beta update, is rolling out today

We’ve enjoyed a steady stream ofAndroid Q beta previewsthis year, and Google has now released the final beta update beforeAndroid Qis officially available.
Android Q beta 6 doesn’t bring much new to the table, but we do see a focus ongesture navigationtweaks, for one.
“We’ve made further refinements to gesture navigation in beta 6 based on user feedback. First, to ensure reliable and consistent operation, there’s a 200dp vertical app exclusion limit for the Back gesture. Second, we’ve added a sensitivity preference setting for the Back gesture,” Google explained in an emailed release.

Google adds that Android Q beta 6 also includes “all of the features, system behaviors, and developer APIs that you’ll find in the final platform,” including the final API 29 SDK and updated build tools forAndroid Studio. In other words, we probably shouldn’t expect any more drastic changes between this final beta and the release to market.

News of the final Android Q beta means the official Android Q release isn’t far away. In fact, Google says more details regarding the full-fledged release will be “coming soon.” According to Google’s ownAndroid Q timeline, we should expect the final Android Q build to land before the end of September.
The latest version of Android will offer a system-wide dark mode, expanded Smart Reply functionality, and overhauled permissions. Other features include a tweaked sharing menu, Wi-Fi credential sharing via QR code, and much more.
