We’re just a few days away from the first major smartphone launch of the year.
Samsung will announce theGalaxy S9 and S9 PlusatMWCon February 25, though at this point not much is left to the imagination. Afull list of specs,images, and even somecamera featureshave leaked out. As exciting as these phones may be, the S9 won’t be without competitionin the first half of 2018.
Thesuccessor to the LG G6, the phone LG is calling ‘Judy‘, is expected to arrive sometime in June. LG is taking its time with this new phone, evendelaying its launchby a few months in order to get all the details right. We have seena list of rumored specs, though the device’s design has yet to break its cover. Still, we’re anxiously waiting to see what the company has in store with the G6’s successor.
Another pair of phones launching in Q1 2018 are theHUAWEI P20 and P20 Plus, HUAWEI’siPhone Xclones. According toleaked renders, the P20 line will sport three rear-facing cameras in a vertical array on the left side of the device, which looks similar to the iPhone X’s setup. The HUAWEI phones will also sport a notch, which will house what looks to be dual front-facing cameras. Both devices are expected to run on theKirin 970chipset, sport 19:9 aspect ratio displays, and dual speakers.
