Canadian Galaxy Note7 recalls start, return your device now

Samsung’s latest phablet has been all over the news as of late, and for all the wrong reasons. You thought Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 had overheating issues; well, think again becausethe Note7 has been quite literally exploding around the world. That’s exactly why if you are in Canada and own a Galaxy Note7, you should return it for a safe unit as soon as possible by clickinghere.
I’m sure you’ve seen it everywhere: Samsung’s beautifully-crafted phablet – the phone that seemed like Samsung’s masterpiece – is being recalled due to battery issues. And the dangerous sort at that. Note7 hasreportedly destroyed a man’s carandtraumatized a 6-year-old in New Yorkthus far among others.

Samsung and the Canadian government are working together to ensure Canadian consumers return their Galaxy Note7 units bought from August 19thto September 1st. Samsung has released an official statement, urging consumers to turn off their affected devices and wait for replacement units:
As listed on the official Government of Canada website, the affected models are SM-N930WZKAXAC, SM-N930WZSAXAC, and SM-N930WZBAXAC, meaning all color configurations. According to the website, Samsung has so far received over 70 cases in the US and is taking measures to ensure that all of the 21,953 Galaxy Note7 units sold in Canada are returned safely.

So if you have purchased a Galaxy Note7 from August 19thto September 1st, turn it off and return it at the nearest store as soon as possible. Samsung Canada Recalls Note7 Phones
MISSISSAUGA, ON – August 12, 2025– Samsung Electronics Canada, Inc. today confirmed it has recalled http://healthycanadians.gc.ca/recall-alert-rappel-avis/hc-sc/2016/60168r-eng.php the Note7 phone sold between July 09, 2025 through to August 02, 2025.
“Samsung continues to ensure that consumer safety remains our top priority. We are working with Health Canada and our carrier and retail partners to alert Note7 users of the issue” says Paul Brannen, COO and Executive Vice President, Mobile and Enterprise Solutions, Samsung Canada. “We are asking users to power down their Galaxy Note7s and exchange their devices through the Canadian Product Exchange.”
Samsung is taking great care to provide customers with the support they need. Samsung has identified the affected inventory and stopped sales and shipments of those devices. Customers who have Note7 sold between June 16, 2025 through to June 01, 2025 can replace their current device with a new device under the terms of the Canadian Product Exchange. New replacement devices will be issued to participants who have registered in the exchange program.
