Welcome back to another Comment Authority roundup here atAndroid Authority. The keynote address atGoogle I/O 2018happened earlier this week, but remarkably the best comments of the week happened in unrelated threads. The recentHTC sales reportgot some conversations going, and our poll about whether or not LG should offer users the ability to remap the new Google Assistant button was a hot topic. Why is HTCfailing?

HTC posted its earnings report for the first quarter of 2018, and as one would expect the news wasreally, really bad. HTCwas once one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world, yet now it is seeming more and more likely that the company will cease smartphone production altogether.

Android users sure do love to customize their devices

Ourpoll-of-the-weekasked a simple question: should LG let users remap the Google Assistant button on the LG G7 ThinQ to perform a different function? LG admitted during a press conference thatit would consider doing just thatif the fans demanded it. Well, LG fans here atAndroid Authorityseem pretty dead set on remapping the button, with 80 percent of voters saying “Yes.”

One user calling themselvestheforevermachinehad some words of constructive criticism for LG as the company relates to another company with a dedicated assistant button: Samsung. Here’s what they had to say:

Yes, we are still talking about the notch

Our own Tristan Raynerwrote a pieceabout how silly it is that companies are continuing to brush off the idea that they are stealing the notch design popularized by the Apple iPhone X. Even LG, when confronted on the topic, denied that the design choice had anything to do with Apple’s best-selling device.

Unsolicited title suggestion of the week

Coming up with a good title for your article is one of the trickiest and most important tasks an internet writer faces each day. Sometimes a great title can mean the difference between an article being a huge hit…or a total dud.

I think that our own Williams Pelegrin useda great title for his piececalled “If you have a Twitter account, do yourself a favor and change your password.” However, a user by the name ofTechngrohad a suggestion that is, well, a bit more extreme:
