This guy doesn’t trust OnePlus

The OnePlus 6 is certainly one of the most talked-about phones of the year so far. People are fervently discussing the company’s decisionto add a notch, thehigher pricingstructure, and the fact thatthe phone has a glass back. Recently, a OnePlus spokespersonexplained whythe OnePlus 6 has a glass back, but no wireless charging. TheOnePlus 6 is a great phone, but of course you’re able to’t please everyone.

One reader by the name ofJoe Smartwasn’t too happy with the explanation, and thinks OnePlus is being super sneaky:

Wait a minute, your phone is how old?

One of the writers here atAndroid Authoritythought it would be cool to round up all the staff members and have them discuss which phone they use as their daily driver. There are over 30 people on staff here, so that was quite the undertaking. The results, published here, paint a unique picture of which phones us Android-lovers actually use (spoiler alert: one of us uses an iPhone).

The comments section is filled with people discussing the data as well as proclaiming their love for their own daily driver, whatever it may be. But commenterManawelltells an interesting story about his daily driver — theSamsung Galaxy S3!

Sony phones are great, but nobody knows about them

TheSony Xperia XZ2series of smartphones are pretty neat. Yes, Sonyabandoned the design elementsthat set their phones apart from the competition and made somevery questionable decisionswhen it comes to dongles and headphones, but the XZ2 is still pretty nice.

The only problem is that very few people even know Sony makes smartphones at all, as Sony’s advertising department seems to not care about pushing the products. That’s what readerjrharbortthinks, anyway, as he so eloquently describes in the comment below, which appeared in our article about how Sonyis starting to understand the mistakes it makes:

The ‘ThinQ’ moniker is the gift that keeps on giving

We’re not gonna lie: we here atAndroid Authoritythink theLG G7 ThinQshould have simply been called the LG G7. This whole “ThinQ” business is, we feel, a little silly. We, like many people, didn’t even know how to pronounce it when it first came to light — is it “Think” or “Thin Queue?”

That’s why when we got word that LG was rebranding the one-year-old LG G6 as theLG G6 ThinQ, we got a little flustered. Eventually, we did find out from LG that it was all a mistake, andno rebranding is happening. But the comment threads from that article are still hilarious, with top commenterElvis Leeswinning the internet for the day with his two-word comment:

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Don’t spoil Solo for anyone by saying that Han, Lando, and Chewie, survive at the end of the movie. That would just be horrible.
