Confirmed: Galaxy Note 3 to run Android 4.3 out of the box
August 12, 2025
Last week, the purveyors of Samsung insider info fromSam Mobiletweeted that the highly anticipated Note 3 would be running the latest version of Android at launch.
There was little proof to backthat report, but now some confirmation comes our way from the body that certifies devices for DLNA compliance.

The Galaxy Note 3 variants destined for the South Korean market were spotted on theDLNA’s certification websitewith Android 4.3 mentioned as an operating system. These variants are SM-N900S, SM-N900K, SM-N900L, which will launch on SK Telecom, Korea Telecom, and LG Uplus, respectively.
While sometimes there are hardware differences between the Korean and the international versions of flagship devices from Samsung or LG (the most recent example is theremovable battery and SD slot on the G2), software is almost always the same, which gives us hope that we’ll see the Note 3 with Android 4.3 in international markets as well.

We were a little skeptical that Samsung would manage to pull off a current Android version ahead of theMoto Xand theLG G2, but it seems that the Korean giant put theGoogle Play Edition programto good use.
In case you need a refresher, the Note 3 isscheduled to launchon September 4, at a pre-IFA event. We look forward to trying out the 5.7-inch device equipped with a mighty Snapdragon 800 processor, an OIS camera, and of course, the trademark S Pen stylus.
As for Android 4.3, there’s a bevvy of interesting, though not major updates, about which you can read morehere.
