Confirmed: HONOR 10 coming on April 19 (Update: leaked image!)

The render was posted on Chinese social media websiteWeibo(viaGSMArena) and it looks pretty legit. It shows off a purple and blue “Twilight Edition” color scheme similar to what was seen on the recentHUAWEI P20 series(HONOR is HUAWEI’s sub-brand, after all) and a dual rear-camera setup as anticipated. Take a look:

I wouldn’t be too concerned that the device doesn’t look much like those in the official invite at the top of the page. Those are likely just placeholder phones — they appear to lack rear cameras, which will almost certainly be visible at the back of the devices like on the latest image. If anything, the HONOR 10 will look more like the handset in the leak than the promo.
It’s practically a given thatHuawei‘s HONOR sub-brand would deliver a variation on HUAWEI’s flagshipP20range. That phone, dubbed the HONOR 10, now has a reveal date.
The date comes viaHonor’s Weibo account(h/tGSMArena), confirming the HONOR 10 name and mentioning AI-related capabilities.
HONOR flagships tend to follow in the footsteps of HUAWEI flagships. For example, theHONOR 9featured the same chipset, battery capacity and dual-camera setup as theP10. More recently, we’ve seen theHONOR View 10offer the same Kirin 970 chipset and AI-powered camera smarts as the Mate 10.
As for the HONOR 10 specs? We’re looking out for the same Kirin 970 chip and AI-powered features as the P20 andMate 10, as well as a tall display.

There is one question surrounding the new date though — what’s coming on May 15? Wepreviously reportedon an HONOR launch set for that date, speculating that the HONOR 10 could be coming then. It’s possible HONOR could unveil the 10 on April 19 in its home country, then release it internationally on May 15. That’s just speculation for now, though we will be sure to update you if we hear anything else regarding the HONOR 10 launch date.
