Deal: Get the BlackBerry KEYone for $100 off from now through Christmas

To me, theBlackBerry KEYone‘s normal $549 price tag is a bit too steep. Its battery life is among the best, and that keyboard makes the phone stand out, for better or for worse, but similarly-powerful smartphones go for less. That’s why it’s nice to see BlackBerry knock $100 off the KEYone’s price, even if it’s temporary.
The discount brings the KEYone to a more reasonable $449, but as I mentioned, this is a temporary discount — you have from now through December 24 at 11:59pm CST to take advantage of the offer. Also, only the GSM/LTE and CDMA/LTE variants of the silver KEYone are being discounted — those looking for the slightly souped-upKEYone Black Editionshould look elsewhere.
Either way, you’re getting a great smartphone with the KEYone. The phone features a 4.5-inch, 1,620 x 1,080 resolution display on the front, and that weird resolution is to accommodate the keyboard. It may be a relic of the past, but BlackBerry modernized the keyboard on the KEYone by letting you long press any key to act as an app-opening shortcut.
Also, because the frets between the rows of keys are capacitive, you can scroll through webpages and long lists without laying a finger on the touchscreen. Finally, the space bar doubles as a fingerprint sensor, which, in our testing, worked just fine.
Elsewhere, the KEYone chugs along withQualcomm‘s octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, a power-efficient chipset that, when paired with the phone’s 3,505 mAh battery, helps the phone deliver great battery life. Finally, though the KEYone currently runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the phone is slated to getAndroid 8.0 Oreosometime in the near future.
Officially, the KEYone’s $100 discount is available through Amazon and Best Buy, though we also noticed that B&H Photo Video also sells the phone at the same discounted $449 price tag. Regardless, we’ve included purchase links for the phone down below.
