Galaxy S10 could have a low-light camera feature similar to Google’s Night Sight
June 14, 2025
Samsung may be getting ready to compete withNight Sight, the excellent low-light camera feature Google introduced on thePixel 3 and 3 XL. Samsung’s version could even have a somewhat similar label: Bright Night.
That’s according to a newreport fromXDA-Developers, who have found mentions of “Bright Night” inside the code for theAndroid 9 Pie-basedOne UI betathat launched on theGalaxy Note 9. The Samsung Camera APK in the One UI beta included code strings that indicate Bright Night will be able to take multiple shots of the same scene and combine them to get a brighter image overall.

It’s possible the new camera feature could make its debut in the upcomingGalaxy S10, but that it could later be released as a camera update for current phones like theGalaxy S9and Note 9.
Google’s Night Sight mode has certainly raised the bar when it comes to taking excellent pictures in low-light settings, though Google isn’t the only one trying to improve nighttime photography.Huawei’s P20andMate 20phones have their “Night Mode” low-light camera feature, and bothOnePlusandXiaomihave added “Nightscape” and “Night Scene” modes to some of their recent phone releases. Hopefully we’ll learn more about how Samsung will take on this new low-light camera trend in 2019.
