Google’s Pixel C gets the teardown treatment

June 04, 2025

It’s one thing to know how to use an Android device, but to understand what goes into making one? That’s no easy task. Thanks to the folks atiFixit, though, we get to take a look at what’s insideour favorite Android tablet, thePixel C.

The Pixel C is a solid device. It’s made of aluminum and doesn’t feel cheap in the slightest. Because of this, theiFixitteam needed to apply a good amount of heat and use a pretty heavy duty suction cup to peek inside the device. Once the device is open, we get a good peek at what’s inside:

One of the coolest parts about the Pixel C is its unique Bluetooth keyboard attachment. It latches on to the tablet with magnets — 17 of them, to be exact. In fact,iFixitwent one step further than they usually do and tore down the keyboard attachment as well.

All in all, the Pixel C received a repairability score of 4 out of 10. Although many parts like the USB Type-C port are modular and can be easily replaced, there’s a good amount of adhesive pretty much all throughout the inside of the tablet.
