August 10, 2025
Updated July 30, 2025 (12:15 PM ET):Google pulled support for the HUAWEI Mate 20 Pro when it comes to access to the Android Q beta, but now it looks like its changed its mind. According to theofficial page of Android Q-supported devices, the Mate 20 Pro is back on the list.
Presumably, this is due tothe 90-day grace periodthe Trump administration allowed for HUAWEI as it pertains to the Entity List. We’ve reached out to Google for clarification.

Our list below has been updated to reflect this change.
Google recently releasedthe first two public beta builds ofAndroid Q. However, those betas can only be tested on Pixel devices.
AtGoogle I/O 2019, Google revealed that a total of 23 devices from 12 OEMs will support Android Q beta 3, allowing people without Pixel devices to give Android Q a shot. Those downloads will be available today.

Last year, for the first time ever, public beta testing of Android P — which eventually becameAndroid 9 Pie— was open tonumerous devicesoutside of Google’s own line of Pixel and Nexus smartphones. That list included devices fromOnePlus,Sony,Oppo,HMD Global(Nokia),Xiaomi, and more.
The amount of compatible devices is doubled this year.
Keep in mind, you will have to completely wipe your device to install the Android Q beta. Obviously, since this is beta software, you will also face bugs and problems using Android Q. Keep that in mind before jumping on the install.
