Hitman Go lands on the Gear VR, Oculus Rift tomorrow

July 21, 2025

If you’re familiar with Hitman but not it’s ‘Go’ spinoff, then you’re probably imagining a very different VR experience than the one that will be arriving onSamsung Gear VRandOculus Rifttomorrow. No, you won’t be thrust into the first person perspective of everyone’s favorite barcoded assassin, tasked to end human life up close and personal in all the gritty realism of a virtual reality experience. Quite the opposite.Hitman Gois a much more relaxing experience.

Aesthetically, the game looks like something you would see in an architect’s studio. Minimalist graphics layout a boardgame-like environment through which the player must strategically move to whack his targets. When the game initially launched in 2014, many were scratching their heads since it was such a departure from previous Hitman games, but Hitman Go soon proved to be surprisingly satisfying. Come this time tomorrow, you’ll be able to experience this gameplay in immersive 3D.

The game has over 90 levels, and many of them are inspired by familiar scenes from Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Silent Assassin. You’ll be able to pick up Hitman Go for the Gear VR for $7.99, but the Oculus Rift version will run you $9.99 (Square Enix justifies this price hike because the Rift version runs at 90 FPS and has improved head tracking).

If you’re a fan of the series or turn-based strategy in general, then this is probably going to be a game you’ll be interested in picking up!
