In Ghostbusters World, you become a Ghostbuster

Anyone who grew up in the 80’s can attest to wanting to do two things in life: use a lightsaber and be a Ghostbuster. Luckily, we were all giventhe ability to wield a lightsabera while ago, and now our other dream is going to come true.
Sonywill releaseGhostbusters Worldthis year, an augmented reality game in which you are a Ghostbuster. Think of it likePokémon GO, but set in theGhostbustersuniverse: you are a Ghostbuster complete with proton pack, and you are traveling around trapping ghosts. Check out this GIF of the gameplay:
Sony Pictures Entertainment owns the rights to theGhostbustersfranchise, and the game was made in collaboration with Ghost Corps, Dan Aykroyd and Ivan Reitman’s company which overseesGhostbusterstie-ins, and 4:33, the game publishing company.
Since the game is 100% official, you can not only expect to see characters and ghosts from the two original films, but also from the recent reboot, cartoons, comic books, video games, and theme parks. The game will also feature new characters and ghosts.
Ivan Reitman, the director of the original two films, said, “TheGhostbustersUniverse is rich in characters andGhostbusters Worldis the perfect medium to get to know these characters in a whole new dimension.”
Sony didn’t give a specific release date for the game but promised it will arrive on Android and iOS devicessometime this year. A demo of the game will be playable atMobile World Congress 2018, which officially starts on Monday. Hopefully, we will get a chance to try it out!
