LG G8X leaks online: Official reveal coming at IFA 2019?
July 24, 2025
LGhas teased a mobile-related announcement for IFA 2019, tipped to be aV-series smartphonewith a Second Screen case. Now, new renders have emerged online, courtesy ofPricebabaandOnLeaks, and it apparently shows the LG G8X.
The sources state that the LG G8X will launch at IFA, but what should we expect from the phone? We don’t have much in the way of specs, but the new device is apparently packing a dual rear camera setup, and a selfie camera in a waterdrop notch.

The tiny notch makes it likely that theLG G8Z Camera (3D ToF camera) is missing here. The missing sensor means you can’t expect 3D face unlock, hand ID, or advanced gesture controls like the previous device. Then again, our own Eric Zeman thought hand ID and gesture controls were “too slow and unreliable” in hisLG G8 review.
We’re also a little disappointed that the phone isn’t packing a triple rear camera setup, as it would’ve made for a more versatile photography platform. In any event, we’re expecting a normal andultra-widepairing here, as is usually the case for LG’s dual-camera flagships.

Other noteworthy features seen on the LG G8X include a3.5mm port, USB-C, and an extra hardware button (presumably forGoogle Assistant). We don’t see a rear or front fingerprint scanner either, which suggests that the phone will offer anin-display fingerprint sensor.
LG flagships are usually equipped withwireless charging, quad DAC audio, and water/dust resistance, but there’s no word if these features are present here.

“It’s our policy not to comment on rumors,” LG global communications director Ken Hong toldAndroid Authority, but hinted that there was some truth behind some of the leaks. Hong added that we’ll have to join the company at IFA to find out more. What do you make of the LG G8X? Sound off in the comments section!
