Original article, Aug 10, 2025 (3:27 AM ET):Xiaomi has been at the forefront of affordable 5G phones, with its ~$650Mi Mix 3 5Gbeing among the cheapest 5G devices last year. The sub-$300Redmi K30 5Ggoes even lower, and we’ve heard that Xiaomi isn’t stopping there.
Now, aXiaomismartphone with 5G (model number M2004J7AC) has emerged on China’sTENAA website, complete with Redmi branding. The phone bears a strong resemblance to theRedmi Note 9 series, owing to the square camera housing and shiny glass-looking back.

There aren’t any Redmi Note devices with 5G yet though, so this would be a major upgrade for the budget-focused family. The phone packs NSA and SA 5G connectivity and is powered by an unnamed 2.6Ghz octa-core processor (later confirmed to be theDimensity 820).

Xiaomi also confirmed the Redmi 10X series will be unveiled on May 26. However, the image used on the Redmi Weibo account shows a phone with a slightly different camera housing compared to the TENAA image seen above. Check out the Weibo image below.
More specifically, the TENAA image shows a triple camera setup while the Weibo picture shows a quad-camera phone. So we’re likely set to see a standard and Pro/Plus model then. We’ll just have to wait until May 26 for more details, but it’s clearly going to be a powerful mid-ranger.
TENAA’s listing also lists 4GB to 8GB of RAM, 64GB to 256GB of expandable storage, a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a waterdrop notch, and a 4,420mAh battery.
Xiaomi’s upcoming phone is also packing atriple rear camerasetup (with a 48MP main camera), a 16MP selfie camera, in-display fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster, headphone port, andAndroid 10.
