Motorola’s Moto 1S is basically a Moto G6, except only available in China

July 06, 2025

WhenMotorolaannounced availability for theMoto G6, China was notably absent from the list of countries. We finally found out why, as Motorola announced theMoto 1SinChina.

The main difference between the Moto 1S and the Moto G6 is with software. Whereas the Moto G6 features a clean version ofAndroidthat sticks close to stock, the Moto 1S uses Lenovo’s ZUI 3.5 software skin on top ofAndroid 8.0 Oreo.

Also, while the Moto 1S and Moto G6 feature Motorola branding on the front and back, the Moto 1S goes a step further and features ZUI branding around back.

Everything else about the Moto 1S is the exact same as the Moto G6. That means a 5.7-inch display with Full HD+ (2,160 x 1,080) resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio, 12MP and 5MP combo around back, 16MP selfie camera, Snapdragon 450, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, and a 3,000mAh battery.

The Moto 1S also sports a USB Type-C port, dual SIM slots, a headphone jack, fingerprint sensor, and nano-coating that protects the internals from accidental water damage.

If the Moto 1S is anything like the Moto G6, it will not receive monthly security updates. An update toAndroid Pshould be in the cards, but knowing how atrocious Motorola andLenovoare in regards to Android updates, you might not see it on the Moto 1S for a while.

Seeing how many regions the Moto G6 will be available in, there is no reason to import the Moto 1S if you live outside of China. That being said, you can pick up the Moto 1S in China for 1,499 yuan (~$235) in Victoria Blue and Charlotte Powder.
