No OnePlus 9T Pro this year, but nice display specs for 9T, says leak

August 07, 2025

Last year,OnePlusdecided to skip launching a Pro variant of theOnePlus 8T. This was surprising at the time, as the company had launched theOnePlus 7T Proin 2019 (and even a OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition).

Recently, a leaker on Weibo (shared byTechDroider on Twitterand promoted byPhoneArena) claims that OnePlus won’t be changing up the formula again this year. According to the leaker’s intel, there likely will not be a OnePlus 9T Pro in 2021.

This makes a lot of sense so we’re inclined to believe it. Even if you ignore the fact that OnePlus skipped a Pro model last year, theongoing global chip shortagewould make launching two T-series phones in the Fall tricky. We’d bet good money that there will only be aOnePlus 9T.

As far as that vanilla model is concerned, the leaker claims OnePlus could offer a very similar display experience with the 9T that it currently offers with theOnePlus 9 Pro. According to the leaker, the 9T’s display could be a curved LTPO OLED with a 120Hz variable refresh rate. However, the resolution probably would get knocked down to 1080p, rather than the 9 Pro’s 1440p quality.

OnePlus usually launches its T-series phone in October, although that launch could move up slightly since the launch of the 9-series happened earlier than usual this year.
