Nokia 7 Plus users get Android Pie update, but it’s another beta

July 23, 2025

HMD Global has reportedly sent out another OTAAndroid 9.0 Piebeta toNokia 7 Plususers. The update comes despite HMD Global Chief Product OfficerJuho Sarvikassuggesting on Twitter that the version released in early August would be the last one before the official Android Pie release.

The changes in the latest version, labeled V3.190, appear to be minimal. According to aGoogle Plus Postspotted byAndroid Police, the update includes the September security patch, a non-removable “At a Glance” widget on the home screen, data arrows inside the Wi-Fi icon in the status bar, and support for theaptX Bluetooth codec. The user also suggested that the update is “stable enough.”

Nokia 7 Plus

While Nokia 7 Plus users may be disappointed that this isn’t the final version of Android Pie, they are unlikely to get much sympathy from other Android users.

Back in August, Sarvikas said that the Nokia 7 Plus will be thefirst HMD Global device to get Android P. Despite the apparent setback, the company is well on track to deliver the official version in September, as per its target. On the other hand, if theOreo update scheduleis anything to go by, the majority of Android users won’t get Android 9 Pie until late this year at the earliest.
