Nokia G20 comes to the US with a big battery and a low price

August 13, 2025

One of the most important models inNokia’s reworked phone lineupis headed to the US. HMD Global’sNokiabrand has revealed that the G20 will be available stateside on July 1 in “night” and “glacier” colors for a price of $199.

The hook, as in other countries, is the combination of that low price with a huge battery. The Nokia G20 includes a 5,050mAh power pack that reportedly delivers three days of battery life. We wouldn’t be surprised if real-world performance sometimes falls short, but that still suggests you might get through a weekend without a recharge.

The performance is modest, although that might contribute to the longevity. You’ll have to make do with a 6.5-inch 720p LCD, aMediaTek Helio G35 chipand 4GB of RAM. The version coming to the US has both 128GB of expandable storage and dual SIM support, though, so you won’t be hurting for space or an extra phone line.

A 48MP main camera, 5MP ultra-wide cam, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor provide photography you’d largely expect in this category. A front 8MP camera provides selfies on the Nokia G20.

Software support is also billed as a relative strong point. Nokia is promising two years of Android feature updates for the G20 as well as three years of security updates. That’s not as extensive asSamsung’s three years of major OS updates(plus up to four years of security updates) for many models, but it’s strong for a device in this price class and important if you want current software.

The Nokia G20 may be a solid value for the money. Motorola’s2021 G Playis slightly cheaper at $169.99 with a similar screen and battery, but you’re also losing RAM (3GB), storage (just 32GB), main camera resolution (13MP), and a SIM slot. The G20 appears to hit a sweet spot that will help it last longer for only a slightly larger outlay.
