OnePlus confirms OnePlus 8T is ‘coming soon’ (Updated: Official launch date)

Original article: August 15, 2025 (10 PM ET): OnePlus has confirmed that it’ll soon launch its next flagship — theOnePlus 8T. The company took to its social media handles onTwitterandInstagramto reveal the name of the phone and announce that it is “coming soon.” The phone was previouslytippedto launch on October 14.
Adedicated pagefor the OnePlus 8T also sprung up on OnePlus’ India website on Saturday. The page is running a promotion wherein people can participate in a lucky draw to win the upcoming flagship phone. The webpage also includes a teaser ad for the OnePlus 8T starring OnePlus brand ambassador Robert Downey Jr.
Currently, the Chinese smartphone maker is only promoting the OnePlus 8T launch in India. Amazon India will sell the phone and has put up adedicated pageteasing its imminent launch. The e-commerce platform is also running a OnePlus 8T quiz and the last date to participate in it isOctober 14, adding credence to the previously leaked launch date.
We haven’t been able to spot any OnePlus 8T teasers on other global OnePlus websites or social platforms, and we’ve contacted OnePlus in other locations for comment.
What to expect from the OnePlus 8T?
OnePlus’ T series phones usually bring small upgrades to OnePlus flagships that launch in the first half of the year. The OnePlus 8T, however, is expected to add some upgrades and design changes to the series. For instance, leaked renders of the phone suggest a chunkyGalaxy S20-like camera module at the back. The phone will also reportedly support 65W fast charging up from 30W charging on theOnePlus 8 Pro.
The front of the phone would likely carry the same 6.55-inch display as the OnePlus 8,though with a 120Hz refresh rate. A punch hole on the front is said to house a 32MP selfie shooter, while the rear camera array could comprise a 48MP + 16MP + 5MP + 2MP configuration.
Under the hood, you can expect the OnePlus 8T to run on the Snapdragon 865 chipset. Previous rumors suggested that the phone won’t use the upgradedSnapdragon 865 Plus. However, the teaser commercial released by OnePlus stresses speed, so there’s still hope for the SD865 Plus on the OnePlus 8T.
