OnePlus promises a theme store for its phones, and you can help build it

August 25, 2025

If you owna OnePlus phone, you can head into Settings and alter a few aspects of the overall look and feel of the device. This includes changing wallpapers (obviously), icons, and even fonts. However, your choices are pretty limited and, in most cases, you need to alter each aspect individually.

Thankfully, that will change in the very near future. According to an official post from the company on its forums, a OnePlus themes manager known as the Theme Store is on the way. It’s not years away, either — OnePlus contends it is coming with its “next major OS update.” That presumably meansAndroid 12, which should launch in late Summer or early Fall.

Apparently, though, the feature is not ready for prime time. In fact, it is so early in the development phase that OnePlus is looking for help from the community to help build it. The company will hold one of its Open Ears Forums on May 18, at which selected users can help give feedback on the in-development OnePlus theme manager. You’ll need to apply to join the relatively small team, which you can doat this link.

For what it’s worth, Samsung has had a theme store for years now. It’s possible OnePlus is looking to One UI for inspiration on its own theme manager, consideringit clearly looked to Samsung’s Android skinfor inspiration forOxygen OS 11.

For now, all we have to show for the OnePlus theme manager is the image at the top of this article. Hopefully, OnePlus will dish out some more information on this new feature soon.
