Pokémon Go now supports Android N preview and Intel chips
August 22, 2025
Alongside fixing servers that would probably rather just give up the ghost right about now, Niantic has also been busy with some of the requests fromPokémon Gofans left out in the cold.Germany marked the tip of the spear for Pokémon Go’s European rolloutearlier today and now support has also been added for devices with an Intel chipset or theAndroid N developer preview.
The latest Pokémon Go update to appear, v0.29.2, now supports Nexus devices running the Android N developer preview as well as Intel x86-based Android phones. While these two support requests might seem a little niche to many of you, both have been making a lot of noise sincePokémon Go was launched last week.

Some of you may have caught some…ah, frustrated… folks complaining that the most insanely popular app in the history of mankind wasn’t working on a pre-release developer preview of thenextversion of Android, due out in September. Well, oddly enough, Niantic seemed to think that was a fair request (unlike some, ahem Hindyana!) and Pokémon Go now works on Nexus phones running the N preview.
There was also a petition running recently toconvince Niantic to make Pokémon Go compatible with Intel chipsets. That’s definitely a much more reasonable request and Intel chipset-equipped smartphone owners deserve to catch all manner of digital creatures inincreasingly dangerous environmentsjust as much as everyone else.

So that’s two wins for fan requests: which do you think will be next?
