Rejoice: Users reporting chronological Snapchat Stories feeds
June 21, 2025
When Snap rolled out theredesign of the Snapchat app, it was met with unrivaled public outcry. Users simply did not like the changes made, withmany leaving the appin droves as a result.
However, it appears now thatSnapmay be rolling back one of the most controversial changes introduced in the redesign — the algorithmic Stories feed.

Users are reporting, viaTechCrunch, that the chronological Snapchat Stories feed is back, giving them immediate access to what is happening right at this very moment. The algorithmic feed puts Stories into a custom order, with the friends you are closest to (or read the updates of the most) appearing at the top, regardless of when the Stories actually went live.
While this certainly doesn’t fix all the problems withthe Snapchat redesign, this addresses one of the most significant issues.

However, Snapchat has not made a statement of any kind regarding the change. Could it be that this is a small rollout to test the waters of a broad rollout? Is it a glitch? Is it only appearing for users who have certain types of interactions with the app? Unfortunately, we don’t know.
It is interesting to note that only a few weeks ago,Instagramposted that it will be giving its feedan overhaulas well, rolling back its own controversial change. Could it be that Snap is following Instagram’s lead?
Until we get official word from Snap, the best you can do is open your Snapchat app and check to see what the Stories feed looks like. If you’re one of the lucky few who has a reverse chronological feed, let us know in the comments. It would be interesting to see if this is an isolated thing or if this is a rare case of a company actually listening to its user base.
