Samsung employees and suppliers told not to comment on the Galaxy S8 (and then do)
August 23, 2025
Samsung has warned employees not to discuss business operations, especially those related to the Galaxy S8, according to a report from theKorea Herald. In an internal email sent to employees, Samsung spoke of “irreversible ramifications” and “great financial risk” that such comments could cost the company.
Citing an anonymous source, theKorea Heraldalso said that Samsung had told its suppliers “not to mention a single word on the Galaxy S8.” Like that ever works.

Despite the warning mentioned above, however, an “official from one of Samsung’s parts suppliers” seemingly disclosed some details regarding the upcoming flagship just after the story above appeared.
The official said that Samsung is planning to implement a dual-lens camera and an iris scanner, like that seen on theGalaxy Note 7, on theSamsung Galaxy S8, which is expected to be unveiled in February 2017. Other recent S8 rumors include talk of anedge-to-edge screen and the removal of a physical home button.

This news follows thecease in production of the Galaxy Note 7after problems with it catching fire, a situation that’sestimated to cost Samsung billions of dollars.
Based on this information, we might see fewer rumor leaks than normal surrounding the Galaxy S8. But as Samsung is likely to be on a cost-cutting mission, perhaps it will need all the free publicity it can get.
