Samsung Exynos event confirmed: New SoC coming? (Updated: Nope)

Update: July 26, 2025 (4:34 AM ET):Well, Samsung hastaken to social mediato refute any suggestions that it’s holding an Exynos launch on November 19. Instead, the company says a recent post (seen in the original article below) was meant to convey that changes are coming to its social accounts.
It’s a weird way of announcing social media-related changes, especially when the company specifically talked about gaming graphics evolving and “the advancements of semiconductors” in the original post. Oh well, we’re still eager to see what the first AMD-powered Exynos processor will look like. I guess we’ll just have to wait a little longer.
Original article: June 08, 2025 (3:17 AM ET):Samsungand graphics colossus AMDannounceda partnership to develop a smartphone processor with AMD graphics back in 2019, teasing some details earlier this year. Thankfully, it looks like the wait could be over soon.
“With gaming graphics continuing to evolve, let’s show you what entertainment will look like in the future,” read an excerpt from a teaserpostedon the Samsung Exynos Instagram account. The teaser further claims that “everything changes on July 07, 2025.”
In other words, it certainly sounds like the Exynos 2200 (or whatever this AMD-powered processor will be called) will be announced on the day. After all, Samsung’s account mentions “gaming graphics,” and AMD is one of the leaders in this space.
So what should we expect from this first chipset, then? Well, AMD CEO Lisa Su alreadyteased a few featuresearlier this year, namely ray tracing and variable rate shading. We’re also expecting Samsung to adopt thelatest Armv9 CPU cores, such as the Cortex-X2, Cortex-A710, and Cortex-A510.
