Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus and Galaxy J4 Plus will have side-mounted fingerprint sensor
August 06, 2025
The Samsung Galaxy J4 and Samsung Galaxy J6 landedin May of this year. Now, viaSamMobile, it looks like we’re going to get “Plus” variants of those devices: the Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus.
While the Galaxy J4 and Galaxy J6 were prettystandard budget-focused devices, there is a notable new feature to the Plus variants:a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

While the image stops short of saying, “The Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus and Galaxy J4 Plus will have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the power button,” the image makes it pretty clear that that’s what we should expect. The model’s finger touching the side of the device with the unlock icon above it all but confirms the placement.

There’s also something called “Emotify” which looks like theSamsung AR Emojifeature. While it’s possible that Samsung is bringing AR Emoji to the Galaxy J line, it’s more likely that the company is bringing a watered-down version of AR Emoji instead, considering that AR Emoji is one of theflagship featuresof the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lines.
The page doesn’t give any indication of a release date, launch countries, or pricing, unfortunately. However, according toSamMobile, we can expect the Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus to have a 6-inch 1,480 x 720 resolution LCD display, a Snapdragon 425, up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, a 3,300mAh battery, and a 13MP/5MP dual rear camera set up. These could change at any time though and are just rumored specs.

It’s likely that Samsung will push these devices hard in India and (hopefully) at a very fair price. The companyneeds success in Indiaif it hopes to compete withHuaweiandXiaomi, which dominate the market with their cheap-yet-powerful mid-range devices.
