June 20, 2025
CES 2018in Las Vegas is well underway and there have been plenty of revelations from the show, not all of which have been great to hear.AT&T backed out of a HUAWEI dealat the last minute, while Samsung recently dashed hopes that it would release its firstfoldable smartphone this year.
But it’s not all bad news: according to Samsung mobile chief DJ Koh, the hotly anticipatedGalaxy S9will be unveiled at MWC 2018 in just over a month.

Koh made the comments at a press conference during CES (viaZDNet), stating that not only would the device be unveiled at the show, but that we’d also learn its release date at that time too. Current rumors suggest the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus — which should be launched simultaneously — will offer 5.8- and 6.2-inch Super AMOLED panels with QHD+ resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratios. The handsets are also set to include Exynos 9810 or Snapdragon 845 chips, depending on the region where they’re sold, and feature a mammoth 512 GB of internal storage space (for at least one of the variants).
Koh also said thatBixby 2.0, an upcoming upgrade to Samsung’s proprietary AI assistant, would be launched in 2018, and confirmed that all of Samsung’s devices would support it by 2020 (of course smartphones, but potentially all of its home/TV/laptop etc products too).

MWC runs from February 26 to March 1 this year and it’s expected to see the launch of many major products from the world’s biggest electronics manufacturers.Android Authoritywill be there as always to bring you all the Galaxy S9 news; find out more about the currentS9 speculation here.
