Samsung ups its mid-range game, brings S20 camera features to A51, A71

Samsung is bringing a host of flagship camera features to theGalaxy A51andGalaxy A71in the latest round offirmware updates. While a number of other pre-installed apps will receive tweaks, the camera app will see the most extensive changes.
The Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 will now feature aPro camera modein the same vein as theGalaxy S20series. This will let users manually adjust focus and shutter speed and is a boon for those who demand more intricate control of their camera hardware.

Single Take, a mode that automatically records video and captures stills with filters, will also arrive on both phones. Other modes like Night Hyperlapse and My Filters also make the cut.
The update is a welcome sign that Samsung is serious about filtering down flagship photography features to itscheaper devices.

While the Samsung Galaxy A51 and Galaxy A71 don’t pack the same camera hardware as the likes of theGalaxy S20 Ultra, they remain capable snappers. The Galaxy A51 features a 48MP primary rear camera backed up by a 12MP ultra-wide snapper, a 5MP macro camera, and a 5MP depth sensor. The Galaxy A71 features a similar lineup with a 64MP sensor in the starring role instead.

For music lovers, Samsung’s rolling out Music Share to both devices, a feature that streamlines the process of sharing music across multiple phones andBluetooth devices.
Additionally, frequent texters will also see enhanced Samsung Keyboard smarts, with better action prediction, two-finger swipe-to-delete gestures, and in-line translate tools.
Expect the firmware updates for both devices to roll out within the coming weeks.
