The OnePlus 10 Pro might not have a periscope zoom camera

TheOnePlus 10 Proapparently leaked earlier this month courtesy of frequent leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer, showing a phone with a rather interesting camera bump (seen above). The housing shows three cameras, and it looks like we’ve got more leaked info regarding one of these shooters.
Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station hasclaimedthat the OnePlus 10 Pro is equipped with an “ordinary” telephoto lens. They add that this could have a 3.3X optical zoom factor and 30X digital zoom.
A 3.3X optical zoom factor doesn’t automatically mean that a phone will have mediocre long-range zoom capabilities. For example, theHUAWEI P50 Prouses a 64MP 3.5X camera that seems to deliver great 10X shots. However, the leaker claims in the comments that the OnePlus 10 Pro won’t have a high-resolution telephoto camera — not a good sign.
This wouldn’t be the first time a OnePlus Pro flagship skipped a periscope camera, as the 2022 model would be following in the footsteps of theOnePlus 9 Proand last year’sOnePlus 8 Pro. So those hoping for a OnePlus device with fantastic long-range zoom (or two zoom cameras) might not want to hold their breath.
There’s no word on the other cameras just yet, but we’re guessing the OnePlus 10 Pro will offer ultra-high-resolution main and ultra-wide cameras if it indeed follows in previous models’ footsteps. And the company will no doubt stick with Hasselblad branding for the new series, with this partnership only kicking off this year.
