(Update: now live!) Verizon to begin pushing out Android 5.1 update to the Droid Turbo on July 1st

We’re not sure if these features have been removed from the Droid Turbo for good, or if they’ll arrive in a future update. We’ll be sure to let you know if we hear anything from Motorola or Verizon regarding this omission.
Original post (6/30):If you’re the proud owner of aMotorola Droid Turbo, your wait isfinallyalmost over.Verizonhas just announced that it will begin pushing out the Droid Turbo’sAndroid 5.1 Lollipopupdate beginning in the afternoon of Wednesday, July 1st. The update, which Verizon says will bring the device’s software version to 23.11.38, will roll out to devices in stages.
So, what does Android 5.1 bring to the table? Aside from a few new Moto Actions on theMotorolaside of things, Android 5.1 will bring performance improvements, a ton of user interface enhancements, factory reset protection and much more. Remember, you’re moving up to Android 5.1 fromAndroid 4.4 KitKat(not5.0 Lollipop), so this is a pretty huge update. Try to make sure you have access to a strong Wi-Fi network tomorrow, and keep your phone charged up in case the update comes to your device in the afternoon.
