Xiaomi Redmi 5 price and specs details leak: 1080p display and 16 MP camera on a budget?

TheXiaomi Redmi 4might have only been released in India recently, but its successor may already have leaked online. In press images posted on social siteWeibo(viaFoneArena), many aspects of the Redmi 5 were potentially revealed, including price details.

Like the Redmi 4, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 is expected to come in two variants — one sporting a Snapdragon 625 chip (with Adreno 506 GPU) and one with a Snapdragon 630 processor (with Adreno 508 GPU) — and in a number of memory configurations.

The device is tipped to sport a 5-inch, Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) curved glass display and would run MIUI 9, based onAndroid 7.1.1 Nougat, out of the box. On the rear is said to be a 16 MP camera with a dual-tone LED flash and phase detection autofocus, while the front camera is believed to come in at 5 MP.

As for the Redmi 5 battery, the current rumors suggest it will have a 3,680 mAh capacity, while the handset would also come with a fingerprint scanner and microSD card slot for up to an additional 128 GB of storage.

Finally, the Redmi 5 is anticipated to arrive in Q3 2017 or early Q4, putting a release somewhere between now and October (ish).
