Even thoughXiaomilaunched quirky and gaming-centricBlack Sharkin April, the phone was out of stock since then. That looks to change later this week, when Xiaomi will replenish Black Shark stock and hope to sell many more as a result, reportedGizchina.

According toBlack Shark TechnologyCEO Wu Shimin, the company encountered production issues that led to limited stock. With those issues now resolved, Black Shark sales will open up again this Friday, June 1.

Wu did not say how many units will be available, though he said it will not be difficult to purchase the phone.

As a refresher, the Black Shark features a 6-inch, 2,160 x 1,080 resolution display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 845 chipset, either 6GB or 8GB of RAM, either 64GB or 128GB of storage, and a beefy 4,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0.

Around back is a 12MP and 20MP dual camera setup, while a 20MP camera sits around front. A fingerprint sensor is also found around front, though the phone itself looks like what would happen if you shrunk a gaming laptop design to a smartphone size.

That gaming-centric design extends to the Black Shark’s interior and its reason for existing. The phone features an integrated cooling system to avoid overheating during long gaming sessions, while the dedicated “Shark Key” kicks the phone into a high-performance mode.

The Black Shark also supports a one-sided gamepad that attaches to the device and is good for around 30 hours.

As of this writing, the Black Shark is only available in China. $479 will get you the version with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while the $559 version includes 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
